TO BE (Nothing)

BEing "nothing" is not as easy as one may think.

We are conditioned (from childhood) to think that we must be "something" / anything to justify our existence.
It may be a career, rich, successful, likable, positive, good looking, smart, educated with degrees, well-traveled, in shape, environmentally-conscious, popular,
nice, generous, disciplined, charitable, normal, happily married, good parent(s), obedient child, patriotic, etc...

We self-label ourselves (As above and) - conservative, liberal, moderate, hippie, democrat, republican, techie, princess, single, divorced, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband,
wife, any marital / relationship status, brother, sister, cousin, uncle, aunt, any family title,  LGBT, any sexual orientation, any disabled status assigned by the medical establishment or others,
worldy, any nationality, any job title, Christian, Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, Atheist, Agnostic, any religious title, any sorority/fraternity affiliation, etc..
all labels come with rules / pre-conceived notions and therefore limit our "freedom."

TO BE (nothing) = no self-labeling. No sELF.
TO BE (nothing) = no stress to just BE / exist.

BEing "nothing" does not mean doing nothing.

Although the ability to "sit still" without trying is a pre-requisite (sitting still for long periods WITHOUT using willpower)
NOTE: Sitting still IS NOT "meditating," for that word implies one must think about something (else) / do something to disTRACT (Opposite of atTRACT) the mind and/or body.
Learning about meditation in another section of the website will make this difference more clear.

It sounds so simple - who can do it?

It means one does not have any pre-conceived notion that one HAS to do / be anything.
This then leaves one without a "position and/or ideology" to defend among other "benefits."
With no position to defend, we are no longer "defensive" about ANY-thiing.

We don't need sports heroes, war heroes, protectors of family/national pride, environmental heroes, champions for the poor, of science, religious heroes
heroes for good over evil, and no fatherly/motherly heroes! Don't need any Messiah / Savior either!!
