Special

College students think they're so special
Study finds alarming rise in narcissism, self-centeredness in ‘Generation Me'

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17349066/

Hmmm..this tracks very well with the first statement of Mind / No Mind.

But let's see -- who is responsible (Other than students themselves)....I've revamped the Middle Way - Pride Transmission section. That might give some ideas. The Middle Way - Pride Building page has alot of graphic images on it which will make reading it easier. Still more work to do - tiring!

The Lion Tour slideshow is now posted - it's about halfway down the Lion page (So long - I should split it up!). I've cleaned up the Lion and Tiger pages. They are pretty much done. I added quite a few lions from regions of the world I did not have on the page before - including some interesting "finds" from the heavyweights of India and China. I think it is safe to say the lion phenom is global and has been around a long time. Which means....

In a couple days I am going to stop working on the site as I prepare to head down to South America. When I get myself setup comfortably, I will resume. I am really trying to finish the
- never beLIEve - page.

Waiting to see if the space shuttle launches on time too! Some damage from a hail storm just announced! Phooey!

Iran ---> Iraq? Austrian super rifles

Feb.13, 2007 - Iraqi insurgents using Austrian rifles from Iran (Telegraph - UK)

Austrian sniper rifles that were exported to Iran have been discovered in the hands of Iraqi terrorists, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

More than 100 of the.50 calibre weapons, capable of penetrating body armour, have been discovered by American troops during raids.

The guns were part of a shipment of 800 rifles that the Austrian company, Steyr-Mannlicher, exported legally to Iran last year....

-------

Came across this article while I was searching for clipart to improve readability of the website. Funny...that this article just popped up in the last day. An article talking about the sale of the rifles is posted in the War News - Weapons section. I even have a link to an online vendor in Norway where you can get your own. Aren't guns great? Any (US) National Rifle Association members reading this? That DEbate goes on forever in the US and who knows where else. But, it's written in the US CONstitution - the right to bear arms they scream! That's just one of the CONs.....the new world will need a lot fewer laws, maybe they will be called guidelines.

I did some maintenance on the WAR NEWS section - got rid of most dead weblinks, and formatted all the newer articles. This section is particularly interesting, because even if you "disregarded" everything else on this website - the WAR NEWS section has very little commentary by me. It's all written by other people and for the most part major news sources. Can't argue that I reckon. You can eat it though. Yummy!

Making good progress on improving most sections. I find myself in a time crunch again with only one month to go before I'm on the road again - though I will have an ability to update while traveling. Traveling with a laptop this time.

The sections I've spent the most time on recently are in the upper left of the toolbar.

Year 2012, World Myths, and Who We Are. Those three sections are nearly complete -except for the World Myths - Golden Cow story I want to share, but that will have to wait until later in the year. Currently working on the Signs section. I also cleaned up some in the Age of Light - Animal Kingdom. Still looking to post some photos from my recent trip Lion Tour 2006. All that is left is some titling on the slides - about 130 images.

Sorry, don't want to bore you with website maintenance. Here's the most interesting thing I've seen on television recently - as in yesterday:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/bonobos/

I mention bonobos somewhere on the site - I think in an area that needs to be cleaned up alot.

Sex not war. Sex not war. Say...why does one need to dress modestly at churches? Adam and Eve were naked.....

Website Cleanup

The tension keeps mounting in one of the major world hotspots - Iran and US. I've kept a relatively distant eye on what is going on....

.....I've been excited about another recent possibility though. Possibility, because the risk of delay is high. I have now secured my own Space Shuttle Launch Viewing ticket for STS-117 in Florida. Signed up for a early AM breakfast with an astronaut too! I attended Space Academy in Huntsville, AL, USA in high school and was a member of the (US) National Space Society - so space has been an interest of mine for a long time, but it took a backseat in recent times as I realized there was so much to explore on our own planet first. Be as it may, the scheduled launch time fits perfectly with me stopping over in Florida on the way to South America.

A flight over the Nazca lines (Peru), Macchu Pichu, Brazilian Amazon and NE Coast, Pantanal wetlands, and the Atacama desert in Northern Chile are some of the highlights.

I've been making alot of progress on the website recently. I've posted quite a few new items - Jack of All Trades, What is GOOD?, Heaven, Human Beings & Animals, and an Interview with the 4th Horseman. I've made the most important - Mind/No Mind section/procedure more obvious, and begun organizing and cleaning up almost every section. I only had 3 months more/less to build the initial website before I went traveling in 2006. That rush job showed.

Now, I'm in the process of - fixing dead weblinks, link behavior to open new windows, and making things appear more logical, and more simple category menus for each section.

Getting a good sequence on the Step-By-Step section is also important....I could not implement this before because I didn't know what web content would be there. The basic structure of the site is in place now. My goal is to have no more updates (Apart from this blog) by early 2010 if not 2009.

I'm also learning to use better written language myself to reflect the word (sound) patterns I've identified in - Word Fun. If our world is to change - then so must our vocabulary.

Hang loose.

PS: I've added an email address at the bottom. It's in graphic form to avoid SPAM. If I ever end up getting SPAM on it due to other malicious reasons, I will just change it.
