My First Olympics (Olympia, Greece)

Not that long ago, I wanted to attend the Olympics. My first try was for the Sydney 2000 games. I had event tickets in hand and was ready to fly to Australia. Alas, due to family complications, I had to cancel that trip. I made it to Australia the next year and managed to be in Canberra (Capital) with a friend during 9/11. That was interesting. Everyone has their own little story of - Where was I? A neighbor of mine in California was the closest, he had just changed flights from one of the air missiles out of Boston. I don't remember the reason.

My next try was in 2004...for Athens, Greece. It was coming during the latter part of my big world trip. Alas, I returned for my sister's wedding in the US, and didn't take my return flight to London to keep traveling. I ran out of mental gas. I think an old blog entry talks about it. That is when I started to write my first book.

So....my dad says maybe we will go to Beijing, China for the 2008 Olympics. I don't know about that, but I'm in Olympia, Greece right now. In a way...these will be my first Olympics. Spiritual (Home) of the Olympics. Fitting is it not? I will visit the site and museum tomorrow.

Italy was busy. So many sights to see. I have plenty of photos for the future but the most memorable one perhaps is in the Vat-ICAN. Smack dab in the middle of San Pietro Square is a tower/monument. And there are FOUR LIONS facing in each direction. Roaring out their lies for the world to hear. Will you be conned? Oh, there are more lions in Greek history and in Roman history, and it just gets ridiculous. More fodder for the fire.

I'm also glad to leave Italy behind for it is a land of vampires. So many people wearing sunglasses even when it isn't bright. More on this later.

I've been so busy seeing things, meeting people, and traveling, that I just don't get the right amount of time to write more blog entries. But, I leave with this statement:

I WILL KNOW every major city that will be hit by a nuclear missile.

...Good for 'my' Detroit Tigers. As I wrote in Age of Light - Animal Kingdom in early August...they would win the ALCS, but lose the world. This they did indeed. Truth is, even if they won the World Series, they would lose that too. For it isn't really a world series. Didn't the NBA Stars lose to Argentina or some other team.....

Ciao (Oh, that's Italian.....don't know how to write it in Greek)

Silly me

I didn't even share any info about where I've traveled to recently. Silly....all this doom and gloom on my part. I just visited a beautiful national park here in Croatia. Plitvice NP. Magnificent vistas of countless waterfalls.

http://www.np-plitvicka-jezera.hr

Funny how a country well off the tourist path (And associated with war) could be holding such a jewel. I'm tempted to put this place in my top 20. But since I don't actually have the list handy (Do I even have one?), that would be a problem.

Not so off the path, less so if you are European I reckon....but anywhere else. I wasn't even planning on coming to Croatia. I saw tourist groups from Japan, USA, Germany, France, and other unknown Eastern European nations.

One more note...a personal Thanks to Team SanDora in Budapest for showing me around Budapest and taking me to Slovenia.

The Bosnian Pyramids are next, then to Italy and Greece.

Soaking up the sun in Croatia (Zadar, Croatia)

Is anyone else cheering on the Detroit Tigers? After a brief 'scare' they made mince meat of the Yankees. (And now the Oakland Athletics look to be the next VIctim. 2-0)

Looks like North Korea went nuclear. ....but who cares right? ...It's sunny where I am. A place of war not long ago.....

MONEY CHANGERS

I've been getting sick of changing money as I travel through each country...trying to optimize my purchases and ATM withdrawals so I have as little change left over. It's a hassle. I'm heading for Italy and they use the Euro. Finland is the only other country I've been to on the Euro. All others have been different. I've learned a few things from money. Like seeing which coins have LIONs on them. Actually...there is more to learn from money, but that would be a whole article in itself.

If I did not mention it already....or very clearly....there WILL BE NO MORE MONEY in the next age. Enough economic distortion. People should make choices based on what they LOVE to do. Not what they think they should do. After all....when people do what they LOVE, then we will have a planet of LOVE. There's a book title...Do What You Love and The Money Will Follow. I never read it, but have thought about if that was true. I chose writing recently and I guess I thought if I could just make 1% of JK Rowling with Harry Potter.... but I'm just an unpublished writer with five agent rejections so far. Let's see if I get my debut fiction novel published in the next few years.

For things we are not crazy about doing...that is where we'll share the load. You know, teamwork makes even the mundane fun. There will be a lot of clean up.....

....Isn't there some story about Jesus and the money changers? I guess few payed attention to that story. The church collects money and contributions....hmmm....just one part of the eCONomic system. NO MORE. One doesn't have a choice in this matter this time.

More on this in a future web article maybe.

Meanwhile.....

the Dow Jones keeps going up....will it hit 13,000?

Never mind economic lies in Hungary, growing civil war in Sri Lanka, famine in Sudan (Say...I haven't told you yet the kinds of souls that get put there), major protests in Taiwan, and military coup in Thailand. Not to mention North Korea and Iran, and the other ones that just somehow fade to the background.

I know the names of alot more of the cities that will be DEstroyed now. But...that list of Circus 2012 tour dates is for next year.
