I've Done It All! (Kirkland, WA, USA)
That is - I have done all the things that I missed when I was traveling for 7 months!
1) Ate plenty of my favorite Albertson's Yogurts - Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry, Boysenberry - yummy
2) Bicycling around my neighborhood
3) Eaten a "more authentic" hearty Mexican meal
4) Slept for a few days without wondering where I would sleep next
When I was in Dubai, UAE I realized I no longer had a craving for any American Fast-Food. Plenty of Burger Kings, Hardees, KFCs, McDonalds, Pizza Huts, 31 Flavors, and Haagen Daz outlets in Dubai made me sure of that. With these several must-dos accomplished I can now proceed to the next adventure!
Looking in the Mirror
I am diving head first into my next life path of writing a fiction book, and perhaps many more - fiction and non. As I have been educating myself on different aspects of the book publishing / movie screenplay industry I felt a little intimidated - maybe a little "scared" as to whether I could turn all the ideas in my head into successful stories that people would want to read (or watch). Then I realized quickly that I don't have to look far for "courage." I just reflect on my own travels. Travelling abroad can definitely be a confidence builder. Travelling solo even more so. Heck - travelling as a family with small children to foreign lands must be a confidence builder. Travelling for a relatively long period of time to many different places - exponentially so. If you can do it - go. If you can't - figure out how. If you've already - then let's grab a beer!
World Maps
I found an interesting website that allows you to create a map highlighting the countries you have visited. You can see visually where I have been and find the link to make your own in the TIMELINE - MY ROUTE MAPS tab.
