Citing experts at the IAEA, reporter Con Coughlin writes, "Concerns over activity at Zirzamin 27 will be raised at this week's meeting of the agency's board of governors in Vienna." He says the project, which means "basement 27" in Farsi, suggests the military program is located in a bunker deep underground and that the number 27 refers to the number of years since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

Try this link.) - now, the interesting thing is that the headline doesn't match that well with the content of the article. Oh well...media influences politicians, and vice versa. Perception is as good as reality.

Even after the Iraq fiasco, they (USA) still think ordinary Iranians are ready to come out onto the streets and topple it, if a resolute West takes on and humiliates its leaders.With the UN Security Council deadline on halting uranium enrichment now expired, Iran's confrontation with the West is likely to get much nastier.

But if Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shows alarming apocalyptic tendencies, Bush is pretty worrying too: he is said to see taking out Iran's nuclear program as a God-given mission, a dangerous but necessary action that only a president nearing the end of his maximum term can carry out.

Nor is he ruling out use of nuclear weapons, the "bunker-busting" tactical nukes that have a peculiar fascination for the US right, even though they can't penetrate more than six metres into the softest earth, and release clouds of radioactive fallout.
