Explanations

He wears a flat magnet plate on his back under his shirt with the polarity matched to the magnets buried in the ground.
Watch the park levitation again and notice the area they are levitating on has dirt that has been disturbed.

Going through glass

I recently read how his walking through glass illusion is done, and thought I would share.

You have a plate glass window. There is an "Open" sign hanging in the window, but it is actually fixed to the window frame, not the glass. He gets two people to hold a piece of paper over the window. Both these people are in on the trick. He then goes inside the shop, along with another person. This person is also in on the trick. When he's in there, this person activates some mechanism that moves the glass window. It slides up, into the wall above the window. The glass at the bottom actually forms an inverted U shape, so while you can still see the edges of the glass outside the paper, there is a hole that is formed at the bottom of the window. The glass is spotless, so, with the glare coming off of it, and the stationary "Open" sign, it appears to the outside viewers that it never moved. Criss then has someone place their hand on the paper. Criss pokes his finger through the paper and then pushes his whole body through. As he moves through, the assistant in the room lowers the window mechanism, so when the people pull the paper away, it appears the window is solid again. Pretty ingenious, really.

Watch this, when she is fully off the ground, the camera goes round them, when it goes from behind him to infront of her you can quite claerly if you look close see a wire attached to her waistband(which he attaches when he puts his hands on her).

If you dont see it first time watch it again, it becomes visible when it passes him and some of the background light

In 2 of his video's, you can clearly see how he does the trick.

First, the one where he walks up a wall with an umbrela in his hand. When you look at his descent, you can clearly see his climbing harnas and a cable attached to his back.

Second, the above mentioned video with him floating from one building to the other, during liftoff, you can clearly see a mechanical woble when he takes of, typical for mechanical lifting gear.

to address the " levitation in the park " stunt

please re run it -- and note how his shirt tails hand down -- to withing milimeters of the floor

also on the subject of his shirt -- note how when he stands up again -- the shirt tail sticks out from his back " defying gravity "

they use a well positioned accomplise to stand between angel and the camera -- but you can just see it ovee the accomplices shoulder .

my last observation on shirt tails -- in the other park sketch where he " leviates " a female accomplice -- note that her ampole shirt tails also hang down almost to the ground

as for means of support -- did you not notice that angel did not even use the old trick of passing a hoop along his body to " proove " that there were no supportying wires / braces ??

did you not wonder why -- it is a stage magician " staple "

as for 360 degree shots -- please look again closer -- you never actually see a 360 shot -- or even a nything that comes close .

there are people in the way -- they are strategicly placed .

also -- when you think you are looking at the ground -- you are only seeing an oblique view - from begind -- with those dammed shirt tails onscuring a clear view

also -- [ and finally ] in the skrtch with the woman -- watch carefully when he makes a play of passing a wooden walking stick under her nody

it is not passes from one side to the other in one fluid motion -- a sure sign of trickery

Half a Woman trick

I'm new to this forum but found this topic to be very interesting. Someone sent me a video link to Criss Angel's "Half a woman" trick. It probably would have impressed me more except that I had just watched a documentary on the Health channel about the deformed woman who was the "top half" that ran away. She has a deformity that caused the lower half of her body to fail to develop.

Unfortunately, what this means is that everything about his performance of this supposedly live trick was faked. Everyone was in on the trick -- including the audience that pretended to be be shocked. Obviously at some point the deformed woman had to walk over and take the place of the normal woman. I guess they forgot to videotape that part, eh?

Since this was my first impression of Angle, I was pretty turned off by him. He not only used camera tricks but all the people who appeared in the video were paid stooges. Once you resort to this level of trickery it can hardly be called magic. It's more like a special effect.

Oh for Christ sake,Criss Angel admits in his $100.00 "How to" video,everything he does is pure illusion,state of the art trickery,He does this by many methods including look alike people,criss Angel's brothers that appear at different locations to make it look like he magically teleported or disapeared and re appeared somewhere else.He has special wires that are almost completely invisible since they are so thin but strong,can be bought on the net at any magic selling web sites,along with the Criss Angel "How to" magic video where he explains all his tricks...here is a sample ,I am surprized if none of you have seen this,it's all over the web already
