We use this word a lot:
"In my CULTure we do it this way." "How are things in your CULTure?"
"I don´t like their CULTure." (Unspoken - my CULTure is better) - _______ CULTure (Insert your own NATION)

Ghost Stories Haunt American CULTure (Live Science) - Metaphors for "Culture" (Culture at work)
The many handshakes of the world (Christ Saul's Weblog) - discussion about greetings in the Gulf region. Wayne thought
this was odd too during his visit in 2004. The UAE policy is against homosexuality (BBC) -- yet their tribal customs -- appear to Wayne as homosexual!
He saw men touching noses too -- just as the author of the blog article. The CONtradictions of CULTure! Stay out of Dubai - unless you want to get burned.
The CULTS will die out.
CULTure - GUILTure
Only those who feel GUILTy need a CULTure. GUILT will die out.
Metaphor - Movie - Tombstone - I'm Your Huckleberry, the 1st time
Are you afraid to CONfront all the CULTs? and the hardest one of all - your OWN!
Ringo = Cult ----- Huckleberry = anyone willing to confront their own CULT
Do you use this word a lot too? Here, on this page, we have the real meaning. It helps to compare many cultures to find the truth!
CLINGiness
People cling to their beliefs even when better ways exist. Every nation could learn something from another.
But, like a cult, people don´t open their minds. Yes, there is trade and commerce, but this is about how people think, deep inside.
Types of CULT BeLIEvers -
1) traditionalists / conservatives - afraid of change
2) moderates - swimming in between, sometimes just for the sake of it
3) liberals - pushing the envelope, making almost anything acceptable
´Maybe we don´t want to question our culture too much - after all, if the eCONomy is going strong
and we make money, all is good, is that how you think? We´re too desperate to feel good about our CULT.
CULTural PRIDE
For example - America

Taking just a few statistics --
US Obesity Trends 1985 - present (CDC)
Excellent animated US state map showing trend of % obese adults by state. Site also has good clarification of overweight vs obese.
Here, we have one revealing statistic. We´re not talking about just a few extra pounds, we´re talking about being
GROSSLY overweight. When Wayne saw this, he wanted to question every facet of his culture to find out what
was the cause, and then find the solution.
Clickable map of Obesity in the U.S.A. from 2004-2006 (MSNBC) - August 27, 2007 - Obesity rates rise in 31 states (MSNBC)

Obesity_over time 1985 - 2006 in USA (Weight.com) - another animated map - different colors
...there´s always the NATION of TON-GA
The "great thing" about a CULTure is that anything can be justified.
Aug.3, 2006 - Trouble in Paradise (Guardian - UK)
"More than 90% of Tongans are overweight, making the South Sea islanders the world's fattest nation." ......
There isn't the same kind of stigma attached to being fat either.
Tongans, like other South Sea islanders, revere large bodies, though
they are
beginning to admit that the western ideal is more desirable,
at least in health terms.
Nov.15, 2007 - Tonga attracting fatter tourists (TVNZ) - October 1997 - Tony Little Saves Tonga (Outside Magazine)
--- So go ahead...find a CULTure that fits your BeLIEfs! ---
There are many nations in Africa too with similar beliefs about large bodies.
And why should an American be proud of a nation of obese people...when "they can be proud of"----

We don't need any more multiCULTural activities or interCULTural exchanges. Nor CULTured people.
We just need to be GOOD to each other. But - not by trying to BE Good, but by just BEing (oursELVes). And about agriCULTure....
