Fear vs Instinct

People often confuse fear with instinct.

ACTION
How you respond to a given situation

Fear

Instinct

Instinct - based on your KNOWledge, ABILities, and prior experience.

Fear distorts our knowledge. Fear distorts our ability to take action. It makes us hesitate when we should not.

Instinct Example #1

If you were standing in the middle of a street and a large semi truck was coming toward you
and you jumped / moved out of the way - this is instinct, NOT FEAR.
The situation, your KNOWledge, and ABILity will dictate how soon you jump / move.
